Remember that the parameters were just text boxes before. On the linked report (in
this case, the relational report) opening the Report Parameters dialog box shows the

a linked report.

various options for the parameters. One option is Hidden, which works well here.
The end users do not see the parameters, but they are still available to be set by
calling reports.
Summary
Many people assume that Reporting Services is a relational report writer and as such,
ignore its place among the BI stack as an analysis tool. True, it is not as powerful
as a full analytics client such as ProClarity, but that??™s not its target audience. The
target audience for Reporting Services is much broader than that of ProClarity, and
it can provide limited analytics to users throughout the organization with no training
required. When it comes to working with cube data specifically, the abilities found
in the matrix to expand data to show lower levels of detail is extremely useful for
keeping the reports simple and uncluttered while also allowing users to see more
detail if necessary. It??™s also possible to have a report that links to another report
containing far more detailed information. Linking to other reports can mimic the
drill-through capabilities found in Analysis Services and can present the data in a
more pleasant format.
