as you can see, the subtotals are no longer shown for the Accessories product
category, or for any other category.
A simpler method exists for turning subtotals on and off; users can simply rightclick
on one of the product category members and choose Subtotal ???Category???
(where ???category??? is the name of whatever member is being chosen). Clicking on the
Subtotal ???Category??? will turn subtotals off; selecting it again will turn them back on.
If the only desire is to toggle the display of the subtotals, this is an easy way to do it.
If the user wants the subtotals to appear but move to the bottom of the group,
this can be done by again opening the Field Settings dialog box and moving to the
Layout & Print tab. There is a check box on this tab labeled Display Subtotals at the
Top of Each Group, and it is checked by default. Unchecking it moves the subtotals
to the bottom of each group, provided that subtotals are being displayed. This adds a
new row to the PivotTable for each group that contains the subtotals for that group.
Figure 9-11 Multiple dimensions can be added to the rows and columns, and the order in
which they appear in the row and column boxes determines how they will be
displayed in the PivotTable.
