Finally, there is a button to set the authentication method if Excel Services
is being used.
After clicking the Finish button, the Import Data dialog box appears as shown in
Figure 9-3. This dialog box offers several options, including the ability to view the
data in a PivotTable, both a PivotChart and PivotTable, or just create the connection

description, and keywords, along with a saved password and a flag to
always view the connection information in the file before refreshing the data.

file without importing any data. The dialog box also asks where the PivotTable
should be placed.
Also on the Import Data dialog box is a Properties button that opens a Connection
Properties dialog box. This box, shown in Figure 9-4, contains several options that
may be important when dealing with data from a cube. The Refresh Control section
has a check box for enabling background refreshes, which is checked and disabled so
the user cannot change it; this option means that the user can continue to use Excel
while the data is refreshed in the background. Understand, however, that in this
case the refresh is kicked off manually by the user. A second check box allows for
an automatic refresh in minutes, ranging from one to 32,767, or once every minute
to once every approximately 23 days. Finally, a check box can force the data to be
refreshed each time the spreadsheet is open, and then a check box under that can
have the data removed before the spreadsheet is saved.
