database to the Application database. Data Integration uses a set of stored procedures
provided with the PPS Planning Server to accomplish the data validation and the
loading of the Application database. The Staging database that was defined in
an earlier section of this chapter (see Figure 7-3) plays an indispensable role in
Data Integration within Planning Business Modeler. The various aspects of Data
Integration are explained in the relevant sections in this chapter.
Synchronizing the staging database is an important step in preparing the staging
database for populating data from various sources, and later loading the data to
application database. Synchronizing a dimension to the staging area is accomplished
by clicking the Synchronize this dimension to Staging Area link in the Dimension
Tasks pane after Checking Out the dimension. In this section we will use the
Account dimension to demonstrate loading of dimension data from the staging
database.
