And, views stored in PAS can be accessed by PerformancePoint
Server using the PAS View report type, thus helping integrate PerformancePoint
Server with the ProClarity tools. Future versions of PerformancePoint Server are
expected to include most or all of the current PAS functionality; time will tell how
well the PPS development team does at integrating the two products.

The third piece in the PerformancePoint Server triad is the Planning module.
While the monitoring piece of PerformancePoint Server is an enhancement of
Office Business Scorecard Manager 2005, and the analysis piece in reality is
ProClarity, Microsoft built the planning module from ground-up for PerformancePoint
Server 2007. The Planning module of PerformancePoint Server 2007 enables business
users to interact with ??” and continuously contribute to ??” business planning,
budgeting, and forecasting in real time, using the familiar and easy-to-use Microsoft
Office environment. Microsoft Office Excel serves as the end-user interface for the
module planning, where end users ultimately write their changes back to a central data
model that may contain data on actuals side-by-side with planning data.
