Choosing a view and clicking OK, the developer is
returned to the Edit pane. The only choice now is to disable the ability to launch into
the Decomposition Tree, disable the ability to perform a Drill to Detail, disable both,
or turn off all interactivity, which simply shows a static view. The Edit pane can be
seen in Figure 6-61.
Figure 6-61 PerformancePoint Server includes a report template for adding ProClarity
Analytics Server views as a report.

Summary
Out of the box, PerformancePoint Server has decent tools for providing simple
analytics reports to end users. The Analytic Chart and Analytic Grid report types
work well for very limited analysis, and the use of more powerful, but no longer
thin, tools such as the Office Web Components can add to the analytic capabilities.
However, for true analysts needing powerful analytics capabilities, nothing matches
the power of the ProClarity tools. It is for this reason that the first version of
PerformancePoint Server will include ProClarity 6.3 as well.
The ProClarity tools are often considered the most powerful tools for performing
analysis against cubes. There is much more to them than mentioned in this single
chapter; indeed, users can create custom sets of members and store those on the
server to be shared with others. Both the Standard and Professional clients can
export to Excel.
