Note that the legend contains only the
name of the measure and that the different Product Line values appear along the
bottom. While it may be difficult to tell, all the bars are the same color since there is
only a single value for the legend. The format users prefer to choose is up to them.
There is a simple way to switch the items on the X and Y axes if desired; first
right-click on any bar and then choose Pivot. This moves all of the items from the
Series to the Bottom Axis and vice versa. Therefore, any chart can easily be switched
between views such as in Figure 6-5 and Figure 6-6, simply by right-clicking on a
bar and selecting Pivot.
Figure 6-6 Using a simple Pivot command switches items from the X-axis to the Y-axis
and vice versa. Here, the measure has been moved to the Y-axis while
Product Model Lines is on the X-axis.

Dimensions on Both X and Y Axes
In this first example, the Bottom Axis contained a single measure, Gross Profit.
However, Time was not a factor in this particular report, so the next step is to modify
the report so that Time plays a role. However, where should Time go? Normally,
Time goes on the X-axis, so the report is redesigned so that the Date.Date.Calendar
dimension is placed on the Bottom Axis and Product.Product Model Lines is left
in the Series. At this point, what about the Gross Profit measure? It can easily be
moved to the Background.
